In the heart of the mid-Hudson Valley, Kingston is only 90 minutes from NYC. It was named one of the best places for artists in America by BusinessWeek.

Kingston boasts a rich history and architecture dating back to the arrival of the Dutch in 1652 to then become NY State's first capitol in 1777. The first state senate house remains today as an historic site and museum. Four neighborhoods with the city are designated as historic districts.

The City is a chronology of American architecture spanning four centuries from the early Dutch and English, including Federalist, Georgian, Greek Revival, Victorian, Romanesque, Italianate, Neo-Classical, Art Deco and Contemporary.
Over the last several years, the Kingston area has been experiencing an artistic and cultural renaissance with the increasing development of small, creative businesses, restaurants, performance venues, annual festivals and farmer's markets.

Kingston maintains beautiful parks, Hudson River beaches, walkways, a dog park and a number of playgrounds and neighborhood centers. There is also increased activity to rehabilitate the train rail system into a pedestrian and bike-friendly Greenline throughout the city.
